The company has established a reputation as a fintech startup energising the film industry with a new finance model, CREWFUNDING, which helped independent film producers fund their films in the UK, Iceland, EU, and New York. 

In 2017, Big Couch was listed as one of the most disruptive startups in the film industry - by EU-Startups. 

The same year, Big Couch partnered with leading computer scientists from Imperial College London, advised by Prof. William Knottenbelt to tackle an even greater challenge and develop a new, decentralised and transparent product using blockchain technology. The platform will support film and digital creators with a transparent exploitation of their content.

Big Couch presented at renowned festivals such as Berlinale, Cannes Film Festival, Glasgow Film Festival, Film London Production Finance Market and tech-related events. The company crewfunded 7 films, including a £3 million BFI and Creative Scotland picture.
