Work Remotely. We’d like to work with you in Tokyo, Japan, but as long as the work gets done, we don’t mind where from.

White Rabbit’s Engineering Team is building next-generation ecommerce applications which help tens of thousands of people, in over 100 countries, buy products from Japan via our White Rabbit Express and Blackship services. We are a highly customer-focused, tech-savvy, and innovative team.

Help us develop fresh new versions of our mission-critical ecommerce applications. Our stacks include VueJs, Prisma, GraphQL, Auth0, Google Cloud Platform (Vision API, Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, StackDriver, etc.), Cloudinary, HelpScout, Shopify, Stripe, Segment.io, Diffbot, and other APIs. Hardware integrations include touch-screen monitors, barcodes readers, mobile cameras, digital scales, and thermal printers.

Our CEO is an experienced product manager with a background in software development and business process consulting. Our CTO is our lead full-stack developer with a Masters in Computer Engineering and a background in frontend development.

As part of the Engineering Team, you will be responsible for building and scaling our mission-critical web applications. The team is small and fast moving, and you will be expected to iterate quickly and make software design decisions on product features.


Responsibilities


  • Build next-generation web applications with a focus on clean architecture and well-separated parts.
  • Collaborate on product design with Engineering teammates, Customer Service members, and senior stakeholders.


Minimum qualifications:


  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2-years experience developing web applications with a JavaScript framework.


Preferred qualifications:


  • Highly-experienced with JavaScript, NodeJs, and ES6.
  • Significant development experience in Vue, Meteor, React or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of web technologies including GraphQL, SQL, GitHub, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with Material Design or similar UI component framework.
  • Knowledge of web application security.
  • Experience building serverless applications.
  • Code-testing framework experience (Jest or similar).
